TL;DR: Introducing a new series on the CoinSpice Podcast Network: The Peter Ryan Report. Each episode, Ryan will take-on the world of cryptocurrency from a perspective you’re not likely to get anywhere else. He’s steeped in the ecosystem, having been a noted analyst at larger news outlets and, more recently, Executive Producer for a new documentary on Amazon Prime, Rizqi Presents: Blockchain, a six part series exploring crypto in-depth. In this inaugural episode, Ryan discusses the perils of what’s known as Crypto Twitter — the digital public square that has become a hub for the industry. It’s available embedded in the article below, and on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Radio Public, Breaker, PocketCasts, PodBean, and Overcast.
Perils of Crypto Twitter
Twitter is home to battles galore, and that’s especially true for cryptocurrency enthusiasts. What was once thought a decentralized revolution has centralized at a social media behemoth.
It’s there users find the latest gossip, breaking news, and threads dealing with philosophical disagreements. And as the broader market has increased in value over the years, a lot is riding on being an effective communicator, tweeter — so much so, it’s not unusual to find out this or that account was purchased, bots jamming up comment sections, gaming ratios (negative comments to Likes). One good retweet from a crypto luminary, and a person’s status can change overnight.
Peter Ryan joins the CoinSpice team to carve out a slice for himself on a regular program we’re calling The Peter Ryan Report. It’s his unique take on events and deeper issues, as he attempts to make sense of this crazy, wildcat new world.
